The Metal-X Story
In November 1959 Afif and Labiby Najjar had a vision to provide innovative engineering solutions and high-quality metal fabrication services to various industries. In their quest for actualization, they created Metal-X Engineering as the vehicle. In its early years from Belle Vue, St. James the company produced a wide range of metal products, including wheel barrows, manufactured diesel tanks, trolleys, metal furniture, barbecue pits, steel windows, steel flush doors, burglar proofing and railings. In 1968, Metal-X became the first company in Trinidad and Tobago and the Caribbean to manufacture and sell wheelbarrows. In addition, the company designed and produced a flatbed wheelbarrow to transport concrete blocks and other flat objects.
In the early 1990’s with the increasing demand for steel structures, Metal-X expanded its operations to include structural steel fabrication and steel erecting services. In 1997, the company moved to its current location in Chaguanas and now primarily operates as a subcontractor on major construction projects throughout Trinidad and Tobago and the Caribbean region. The company has therefore invested in state-of-the-art technology and equipment to enhance its capabilities in metal fabrication, precision machining, and engineering design.
Metal-X proudly specializes in structural steel fabrication and erection in the construction industry.
The company holds safety as its number one priority and in keeping with modern technology, utilizes engineering software to render both two- and three-dimensional structural modelling.
Although the services being offered by our company have expanded over the years, the company has held steadfast to the motto of its founding father.
